Every coding agent.
One terminal.
Kora is a fast desktop app for AI coding-agent CLIs. It gives you tabs, split panes and multiple Claude Code accounts side by side, and shows context and usage live, so you always know what you're spending.
Supported agents
Click an agent and the whole terminal recolors. Claude Code runs today, and the others are next on the roadmap.
Two accounts. Two sessions. Zero logouts.
Each Kora account is a separate Claude Code profile, and the CLI signs it in itself. Give each tab or split its own account, so work and personal run at the same time.
- /accounts add work, then /accounts login work prints the sign-in command
- Kora never stores a key, token or password
- Background tabs keep streaming while you work elsewhere
Know your limits before you hit them.
The status bar always shows context, session tokens (↑ in, ↓ out) and weekly usage. At 70% context Kora suggests /compact. At 90% it urges a compact or a fresh tab, and it can compact for you automatically.
Cost is labeled honestly. It's real for API-key accounts and marked as an estimate for Pro and Max plans.
Keyboard-first, nothing extra.
- ⌘TTabsOne session per tab, saved locally.
- ⌘DSplit viewTwo sessions side by side.
- ⌘KSearchScrollback, plus full-text search across saved sessions.
- ⌘⇧PCommand paletteKora's commands plus the agent's own.
- ⌘VImages & filesPaste or drop images, code, logs and docs.
- ↑ ↓HistoryRecall earlier prompts and commands.
Your agent. Your credentials. Your machine.
Kora wraps the CLI you already have rather than replacing it. The agent does the work, runs its own tools and keeps its own login. Kora shows you what it's doing.
- No telemetryKora makes no network requests of its own.
- No secretsAccounts are CLI profiles. Tests fail if anything secret-shaped is saved.
- ApprovalsThe agent runs in deny mode, and refused tools ask you first.
- Locked webviewStrict CSP and no filesystem or shell access from the UI.
Questions, answered.
What is Kora?
Kora is a free, open-source macOS desktop app, developed by faithdevs, for running AI coding-agent CLIs such as Claude Code. It adds session tabs, split panes, several accounts side by side, and a status bar with live context-window, token and weekly-usage meters. The agent CLI keeps its own login and tools.
Is Kora a GUI for Claude Code?
Yes. Kora runs the real claude CLI in structured stream-json mode and renders its output as markdown, diffs and approval prompts. It adds tabs, split view, multiple accounts and usage meters on top, without replacing the CLI or its configuration.
Can I use multiple Claude Code accounts at the same time?
Yes. Each Kora account is a separate CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR profile signed in by the CLI. Give each tab or split pane its own account and they run in parallel, for example a work Max plan next to a personal Pro plan.
Which coding agents does Kora support?
Claude Code works today. Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent and Aider are planned. Each one needs an adapter, which is a single Rust file behind Kora's AgentAdapter trait. See the guide.
Does Kora store my API key or password?
No. Each Kora account is a separate profile directory for the agent CLI, which signs in and keeps its own credentials. Kora only records non-secret identity such as email, organization and plan.
Is Kora free?
Yes. Kora is open source under the MIT license. You pay only for the agents you already use.
Which platforms does Kora run on?
macOS 10.15 or later. Linux and Windows builds are not available yet.
Does Kora collect telemetry?
No. Kora makes no network requests of its own; only the agent CLI you run talks to its provider.
Is the cost shown in Kora what I actually pay?
For API-key accounts, yes. For subscription plans such as Pro or Max, Kora labels the figure as an estimated API-equivalent, because that is not what you are billed.
Stop switching windows.
Free and open source (MIT). Bring the agent CLIs you already use.
